Professional Counsellor/Supervisor, MA hons. 1st class, PG Dip.Counselling (mNZAC) and TTC.

An mNZAC (since 2009), I offer a creative, eclectic person-centred,  solution-focussed supervision service. A school counsellor previously for 15 years, I have been a Professional Supervisor for the last eight years. My training has been in a range of therapies including Rogerian PCT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy (BSFT), ACT, Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT), Sandtray, Trauma Therapy and Dream Therapy (with Margaret Bowater).

My current Private Practice is predominantly supervision of school counsellors and private practitioners (EAP, Hospice, Awhina Services, BLENNZ, Youthline and others). I also supervise some counselling trainees from MIT, AUT and Auckland University (PG Dip and Masters programmes).

Up until 2019 I led the counselling team as HOD at Papatoetoe High for sixteen years and prior to that - Manager of Student Services and Pastoral Care on SLT team at St. Mary's College.

As a school counsellor I  worked with adolecents experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, trauma, grief &loss, nightmares, Neuro-diversity (ASD, ADHD), DSH, Conflict Resolution, and relationship issues.

My private practice is located in my home office in Onehunga, but predominantly online through platforms such as Zoom.

In 2018, Balboa Press published my first self-help book "Being with Asperger's" and in 2019 a children's book in the genre of grief and loss entitled "Poppa's Present." I have also published articles on dreamwork in international and local publications including  "Counselling Today."  I was for many years the editor of DNANZ (Dream Network Aotearoa) online bulletin.
